Encrypting files is a three-step process. First, you have to target one or more files, by adding them to a list, after which you have to make a few output settings and specify a password. Encrypted data is stored as a single file. To decrypt your data, you only need to select the aforementioned file and type your password. Once your files are decrypted, the application will offer to decompress the files.

The output configurations involve selecting an output folder and an encryption algorithm. Additionally, you may tick two options, if you wish to compress the files before encrypting them and if you want to create a self-decrypting file. If you send a self-decrypting file to your contacts, they will be able to decrypt and extract the files, without installing MEO Encryption Software on their computers.

The possibility of sending encrypted emails is another advantage of MEO Encryption Software. You can compose an email, attach files and specify the recipient and subject on a small window. The application will send your emails using your default email client. The appropriate MAPI or SMTP settings can be made in the general Options menu.
